Step 1: Download and launch the DRS Softech PST File converter.
Step 2: Choose an option: SingleFile/Multiple files to select a few files or Select Folder to select an entire folder containing PST files. Then, click Next.
Step 3: Now, click on the Select Files button to add PST files from the PC. Or, opt for Select Folder to choose an entire folder.
Step 4: Choose files from your local drive and click Open to add files. Then, press Next to proceed.
Step 5: You will get a pop-up on the screen with the message “Your File Imported Successfully. Please Expand the Tree Hierarchy.” Click Ok.
Step 6: Now choose PST mailbox items from the tree structure. Preview all the scanned data and click NEXT.
Step 7: Opt for File format and expand the drop-down menu. Choose EML as a file-saving option from the list of file formats.
Step 8: You will get various options to customize your resultant file. You can:
- opt for the Remove Duplicate Mails option to skip migration of duplicate emails based on To, From, Subject, BCC & Body.
- save the resultant file in the source folder by choosing the Save in Same (Source and Destination Folder are same) option.
- tick the Maintain Folder Hierarchy option to maintain the folder hierarchy of your mailbox.
- Choose Save Attachments separately to save all attachment files in a separate folder.
- Or opt for the Migrate or Backup Emails without Attachments to exclude attachments while migration.
Step 9: You can also apply:
- Date Filter for migration of mailbox data from a particular date range.
- Different Naming Conventions to rename the Output Files.
- And, Custom Folder name options to define the name of the folder you will save the resultant file in
Step 10: To finally begin the conversion process, click on Convert.
Step 7: To migrate the PST file to a Gmail account, opt for the Email Clients option.
Step 8: Expand the drop-down menu and choose Gmail from the list of email clients.
Step 9: Enter the correct Username and Password to log in to the Gmail account using Basic Authentication. Click on the Sign In button.
Step 10: You can choose to log in through Modern Authentication. Enter your Gmail user ID you want to log in to and click on Sign In.
Step 11: The Modern Authentication will direct you to a Chrome page, where you need to choose accounts and allow access. Then, you will get a pop-up notification of Authentication Successful. Return to the DRS Softech PST File Converter Tool where you will see various migration options.
Step 12: Opt for different migration options such as Remove Duplicate Mails, Maintain Folder hierarchy, and Migrate or Backup Emails without Attachments.
Step 13: Also, you can apply the Date Filter for migration of data from a specific date range and custom folder name.
Step 14: Finally, to begin the migration of PST files to Gmail, click Convert at the end.
Step 15: After the migration is complete, you can download the report or choose to convert again.
